About Anna Donahue
Philosophy
My business, AK Donahue Design, is all about creating beautiful interior design plans. With a background that includes interior design, color consultation, drafting, graphic design, drawing, mural painting, and decorative painting, interior design is an extension of my art background and I love to see an environment finished off with all the interior design elements that make it beautiful.
Education
After graduating from Montana State University with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Communication Arts my business, AK Donahue Design, was established. I have worked from Grand Rapids, Michigan for over 20 years on hundreds of different interior design and mural painting projects across the country. Both residential homes and commercial businesses of varying sizes have been transformed with my designs.
Community
Community donations by AK Donahue Design include original designs and projects for The Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Paws with a Cause, God’s Kitchen, The Humane Society, Health Intervention Services, Grand Rapids Ballet, Grand Rapids Symphony, March of Dimes, Special Olympics, Rest Haven Homes, Inc., Boys and Girls Club and Gilda’s Club.
Interests
Sculpture is my hobby and each year ArtPrize is a big event. The bronze sculpture "RAIN" was purchased by the Women's Guild of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in 2009 and is on display near the front entrance.
The bronze sculpture, "Kanoa and the Moth" was exhibited at West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology in an outdoor garden created for ArtPrize 2010.
The kinetic sculpture, Face Me; Artbeing was exhibited at the Calder Plaza Building in 2011 and was sold to a private buyer. This sculpture was selected and promoted through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
